It's Thursday December 12th. Elle and I were very hungry and she told me Khao Yai was famous their steak, so I looked for highest rated steak restaurants on Google and "Cowboy Home Steak Restaurant" was almost 5 starts, the reviews were great, but I didn't look at the menu. When we got there it was all Thai food, and 1 ribeye steak. We decided to find another place to eat.
We searched some more and found "Studer Restaurant The Best Steak in Khao Yai". This place is amazing. Professional staff, wonderful atmosphere, unbelievably clean dining area and restrooms. , and the
Elle quit her job in November, but somehow she is still doing work. |
I finished this all by myself. |
Perfect Rare |
Elle told me I should get wine and to order for her, two mistakes right off the bat. Elle does not prefer beef and she really hates seeing any red in her food. I immediately committed to finding a great steak for us, and I decided on 2 tenderloin filets. They only had 3 ways to have it cooked. Medium Rare, which I got for my steak and was a perfect Rare, Medium, which I ordered for Elle and was a perfect Medium Rare, and lastly they had Well Done, which from the pictures looked like it was between Medium and Medium Well but wasn't something I would order so I didn't even consider it. We started with a Caesar Salad which we split, and a calamari appetizer. Elle said she prefers the Japanese tempura squid. Our steaks came with sides of champagne mushrooms with cheese, and fries, as well as grilled vegetables. The bill came close to 6000 baht. Which is about $175 US. Elle was not happy we spent more than a months rent on a meal and asked me later if I would not do that too many times. I told her it was a special meal and while I wasn't going to promise anything, that most likely there wasn't going to be another dinner this expensive for a while. If we stayed in Khao Yai we would have eaten here every day.
