Jan 6th-8th. On the 6th, I finally got some sleep before working for the day. I continue to be overwhelmed and disappointed by employer, my peers, and my company in general.
My weekend plans were cancelled as my team was asked to be available all weekend for a preplanned work activity that we were not included on until right before the weekend. This is an ongoing and consistent situation at my job with previous activities at my employer and it makes me ashamed of the IT group for this and so many other reasons. It also upsets me that lack of work life balance that is proclaimed is a clearly not represented in reality as well as the consistent claim that we are valued and appreciated by the company which is not supported by our treatment as human beings.
I will most likely be spending the time alone as I will not be joining AEW on our previous plans. She did come home during her work event and work party to have dinner with me. She was dressed up as some famous school teacher on TV here in Thailand. When she got home she realized her tire was low so we walked to get food. When we came back home the tire was just about flat ... I can only assume this is going to be fun to try to get fixed. There was a nail in the tire and we had to eat close to the house. I look forward to many more weekend situations similar to this one while I am here in Thailand.
We found a "farm to table" type Cafe close to the house called "Little Loft -Cafe and Farm." They have hydroponic veggies, fish, koi, chicken, ducks, rabbits, baby pigs, and you can buy food to feed all of the animals. The piglets get little bottles of milk.
