They had nothing I ordered, everything I picked to order they did not have. Having worked in restaurants, this is something you tell your customers when you seat them not after they figure out what they want. And this Alami Ebiko roll was awful. The tuna was almost grey in color and not bright and red as it should be.
The golden sea roll. Tuna and avacado roll, topped with otoro, uni (which they did not have), black tobiko, and gold flakes. First, the pieces were way to big to fit in your mouth and I eat American sushi, where is it always too big and should be smaller. Again the tuna was some of the worst tasting tuna I have ever had at a sushi restaurant. I mean I've had better tuna from a grocery store. I did not feel well after eating here either.
Two pieces of unagi nigiri and matsusaka nigiri were delicious. In the back row we have hon Maguro otoro nigiri, chutoro nigiri, yellowfin tuna nigiri, and one saba nigiri. All 3 types of tuna were terrible and I did not eat all of them. Yet again each piece was too big to fit in your mouth in one bite. The restaurant is called Maguro, Japanese for true tuna, and their tuna options are limited as well as unpalatable. This was my most expensive meal in Thailand and just about the most disappointing.
I took home an unagi roll and the matsu hobo beef steak dinner. Both of these were good, but they were not worth the high price. Additionally, they completed the togo order before we were served our food in the restaurant. I asked the waitress about placing a togo order and when I should place the order. She said it all needed to be placed at the same time, but wouldn't be made until after we had received our food at the table. When we got home my carry-out order was already over 2 hours old. I did enjoy my cherries and Granny Smith apples for dessert while I worked.
