We shared a beef bone broth shobu with morning glories, bean sprouts, cilantro, and sides of steamed rice. I'm all about the food and I think I'm going to have to go back to making soup and broth from scratch again. I really miss it and premade broth just isn't the same. Not even close.
We arrived just in time. We got the last seat outside. The restaurant was full and immediately had a line of 30-40 people waiting outside for a seat. Apparently it is famous for tourists and locals alike.
This is the owner, Joe. He recognized me from my previous visit and we talked about the sauna. He said a lot of foreigners come here and I think he was going to ask if I'd been here before. I told him this is one of the best experiences I've ever had. I wish I would have come earlier on my trip, I would have been here at least once a week.
I repeated my previous routine. I went into the first saunas again and I don't think it was as hot as it was the first time we visited. I had a salt scrub in the first sauna, followed by an icy water plunge for a few minutes that was so cold (18° C) I could see my breath, then onto the hot tub (45° C). After eating some fruit and ice tea I repeated it again, but in a hotter sauna. The second round was in the hotter sauna, followed by the ice bath, hot tub, then rehydrating. I spent 10-20 minutes in the saunas each round and 5-10 minutes in the water. I did this several more times until Eat and Ped were ready to go home.
