After lunch we went to "Srinakarin Sauna 42," a spa and we ventured into the hotest saunas I've ever been in. I think it said 44° Celsius. We had a salt scrub in the first sauna, followed by an icy water plunge for a few minutes that was so cold (18° C) I could see my breath, then onto the hot tub (45° C). After eating some fruit and ice tea we repeated it again, but in a hotter sauna. My skin felt like it was on fire. Every breath I took burned my throat and nose hairs. There was so much steam I couldn't tell if anyone else was inside with me or not. The top of my head felt like it had molten metal on it. Then a third time in the hottest sauna, ice, and hot. After hydrating I repeated everything a fourth and fifth time. I spent 10-20 minutes in the saunas each round. Wow, I feel great and makes the 90+ degree Bangkok heat feel chilly.
